Former Spain national team coach Robert Moreno has firmly denied reports suggesting he was dismissed for allegedly using artificial intelligence tools, including ChatGPT, to prepare team tactics and training plans.
Moreno described the claims as misleading and exaggerated, stressing that his exit had nothing to do with the use of AI or any form of technological shortcut. According to him, modern football naturally involves data analysis, video review, and performance metrics, but the narrative that he relied on AI to replace professional coaching judgment is false.
He maintained that innovation and technology have always been part of elite football, adding that tools are meant to support coaches, not undermine their expertise. Moreno expressed concern that the allegations unfairly portray him as unprofessional and distract from the real issues surrounding his departure.
