The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed down disciplinary sanctions following incidents arising from the AFCON 2025 final, suspending key players and imposing fines on national football bodies.
Morocco’s star defender Achraf Hakimi and Senegalese defender Malick Thiaw were both suspended after CAF’s disciplinary committee reviewed reports linked to post-match conduct during the final.
In addition to the player suspensions, CAF fined the football federations of Senegal and Morocco, citing breaches of competition regulations and failure to adequately control team officials and players.
