The Charles Soludo–led Anambra State Government has ordered the closure of the Onitsha Main Market for one week following the alleged defiance of the sit-at-home directive observed across parts of the South-East.
The decision, announced by state authorities, was described as a firm response to what the government termed a deliberate breach of public order and safety regulations. Officials maintained that the sit-at-home directive was widely communicated and that compliance was necessary to prevent security breaches and maintain stability.
