A tragic incident has been reported in Kano State, where a teenager and an eight-year-old child lost their lives after drowning, throwing the affected community into mourning.
The victims were said to have drowned after being swept away by water, with residents raising alarm when the children failed to return home. Efforts were reportedly made to rescue them, but they were found lifeless, leaving family members and neighbours devastated.
Local authorities and emergency responders were alerted to the incident, while community members called for increased safety awareness, especially for children around open water bodies, drainage channels, and flood-prone areas.
