The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced that registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence on January 26 across Nigeria.
Prospective candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions are advised to prepare ahead, as the registration exercise marks the first major step in the 2026 admission cycle. Registration will be conducted through accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide, in line with JAMB’s standard examination procedures.
According to Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, candidates must ensure they follow all approved guidelines, including the creation of a valid profile code, completion of biometric verification, ensuring all personal details including National Identification Number (NIN) are accurate and readily available, and registration only at accredited centers nationwide.
JAMB has also reiterated its commitment to a transparent and technology-driven examination process, warning candidates against patronizing cybercafés or individuals not officially approved for UTME registration.
As the clock ticks towards January 26, candidates are encouraged to gather all required documents early and stay alert for further announcements on examination dates, mock tests, and deadlines. Candidates and parents are encouraged to stay informed through official JAMB communication channels to avoid misinformation and last-minute rushes.
