The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, has praised Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma for successfully implementing the N104,000 minimum wage for civil servants, describing it as a testament to exceptional leadership and resource management.
Speaking about the governor’s achievements, Dr. Arodiogbu expressed his admiration for what he termed remarkable fiscal discipline. “Governor Hope, my Hope, the Hope of the people. Governor Hope Uzodinma has demonstrated extraordinary leadership by achieving this N104,000 minimum wage through diligent management of Imo State’s resources and effectively blocking leakages from ghost workers and multiple salaries that plagued past administrations,” he stated.
The APC South East leader emphasized that what makes Governor Uzodinma’s achievement particularly impressive is his ability to balance worker welfare with massive infrastructure development. Despite implementing one of the highest minimum wages in the country, the governor has simultaneously embarked on extensive infrastructural projects spanning the entire state.
“What we are witnessing in Imo State under Governor Uzodinma is unprecedented,” Dr. Arodiogbu noted. “The administration has managed to touch every aspect of human development while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The extensive road networks being constructed across the length and breadth of the state are transforming communities and improving the quality of life for our people.”
Dr. Arodiogbu also highlighted the upcoming commissioning of the power generation plant as a game-changer for the state’s economic prospects. “The ethos-making power generation plant that will soon be commissioned represents Governor Uzodinma’s vision for sustainable development. This project will not only provide reliable electricity to our people but also attract industries and create employment opportunities.”
The National Vice Chairman concluded his commendation by positioning Governor Uzodinma’s performance within the broader South East context. “Despite the huge number of infrastructure projects ongoing within the length and breadth of the state, Governor Hope Uzodinma is arguably the best governor that has been in the South East Nigeria. His administration has proven that good governance is possible when leaders prioritize the welfare of their people above personal interests.”
Additionally, Dr. Arodiogbu commended Governor Uzodinma for the innovative OKOBI economic development initiative, which forms a cornerstone of the state’s shared prosperity agenda. “The OKOBI model, which encourages collaboration between two or more individuals to pool resources and establish lucrative, sustainable business ventures, demonstrates Governor Uzodinma’s commitment to grassroots empowerment,” he observed. “This initiative is strategically designed to foster employment and wealth creation through well-structured cooperative enterprises across Imo State, ensuring that prosperity reaches every corner of our communities and creates lasting economic opportunities for our people.”
