The Federal Government has officially commenced payment of the long-awaited arrears tied to the newly approved ₦77,000 NYSC monthly allowance, setting social media abuzz as ex-corps members confirm receiving credit alerts.
Recall that in September 2024, the FG announced an upward review of the monthly NYSC allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000, citing the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act, 2024. However, implementation was delayed until March 2025, leaving thousands of corps members who completed their service between September and February in suspense over their eligibility for arrears.
Despite initial fears of exclusion, the government has now made good on its promise to pay eligible ex-corps members — even those who have passed out of service.

One excited beneficiary, Mary Joe, shared:
“This is so amazing, I didn’t see it coming. Federal Government made a promise and saw it through. Guys, I just received my arrears! If you’re an ex-corper from Batch A1 2024, check your alert!”
Another user, Engr. Saleesu Sb, posted on Facebook:
“I just received ₦44k in my Globus account. 2024 A1. Looks like arrears don dey drop.”
And from Lumex Philemon:
“Plateau ex-corper, Batch A Stream 2. Received mine too.”
At the moment, only ₦44,000 is being disbursed — possibly covering just one month of the outstanding payments. It remains unclear whether this is a phased payment or a one-time settlement. Most eligible members are expecting arrears covering up to three months.
🎓 All NYSC alumni from affected batches are advised to stay alert and monitor their bank accounts.
